My vape tastes burnt

Are you using the correct type of e-liquid? If you have a sub ohm vape (coil is less than 1 ohm) you should be using min 60% VG e-liquid. If you use e-liquids that are high PG, like from the dairy, which are typically 70% PG, they are the wrong liquid and will cause a burnt taste (and be REALLY harsh).

  • Have you ever run your coil dry? Always make sure there is liquid in your vape – once you run your coil or pod dry it is like a piece of burnt toast – you can’t really unburn it.
  • How old is your coil? Coils (and pods) typically last 1 – 4 weeks, depending on how much you use it etc. The cotton in coils get clogged up (like an air filter), so need replacing.
Harsh on throat
  • Are you using the correct type of e-liquid? If you have a sub ohm vape (coil is less than 1 ohm) you should be using min 60% VG e-liquid. If you use e-liquids that are high PG, like from the dairy, which are typically 70% PG, they are the wrong liquid and will be very harsh on the throat. When you use a sub-ohm vape the full strength is 6mg (because you are getting like 3x more cloud, so is equivalent to 12mg – 18mg of PG liquid).
  • Higher nicotine levels are also harsher – try dropping down a level.
  • NEVER use Nic Salts in Sub-ohm devices
Vape leaking
  • How old is the coil? Old coils get clogged up so the liquid goes straight through and causes leaking (typically through bottom air vents)
  • Are you using the correct type of e-liquid? If you have a sub ohm vape (coil is less than 1 ohm) you should be using min 60% VG e-liquid. If you use e-liquids that are high PG, like from the dairy, which are typically 70% PG, they are too watery and can leak through tank seals.
  • Have you been using your vape regularly? If you haven’t used your vape for a few days (or weeks or months!), the coil gets over saturated so liquid ends up leaking through.
  • Is the coil screwed in properly? There are o-ring seals on coils – if they’re not screwed in properly and seal they can leak.
  • Nicotine does eat through o-rings – try replacing the o-rings on your tank (you should have spares in your box).
When should I change my coil?
  • When it tastes burnt or yucky
  • Is your tank leaking?
  • When it is spitting
  • When the tank is getting hot
  • When you don’t get much vape or cloud anymore
Vape spitting into my mouth
  • How old is your coil? Coils typically last 1 – 4 weeks. Old coils get clogged up so the liquid hits the heating element and shoots hot liquid up.
  • Are you running your vape at the correct wattage? Coils have a recommended wattage to run at. Most are written on the coils now, or are on the box. Run them at the recommended wattage give or take 10%. Too low and the coil floods and can spit.
  • Are you using the correct type of e-liquid? If you have a sub ohm vape (coil is less than 1 ohm) you should be using min 60% VG e-liquid. If you use e-liquids that are high PG, like from the dairy, which are typically 70% PG, they are the wrong liquid and are too watery and can cause spitting.
Vape Not charging
  • Have you tried a different cable? A different USB charger? Have you been using the correct plug and cable amp for your vape?
  • How old are your batteries?
  • If you have external batteries, have you been using an external charger or just the USB cable?
  • If your battery/batteries are more than 6 months old they may need to be replaced.
